Lots of work to do here. This was literally hours upon hours of sanding and even then I was still cutting corners by not reducing the grit of sandpaper in the proper steps. In the end I was still very satisfied and getting the rust off of the main frame was my biggest challenge.

Hi there, great work on the restore project. I did a search and came across this site. I was hoping you could post a pic of the 42″ deck attachment. Ive beenlooking all over for how this deck is hooked up and what engages the belt. the tracktor i have is the same but came with a 48″ deck. it looks nothing like your 42″ my problem is that I cant seem to beable to get the deck to hook up so it can raise and lower by the arm on the side the front cowl nore can I seem to figure out how the belt is to engage. Im thinking its not going to be possible to fit this unit with the 48″ deck.
I’ll see what I can do. I know my blade setup has an adjustable nut that allows you to raise or lower the blade more but something is quite right on mean either because although I can drop and raise the blades I generally don’t because on the lower setting its far too low so I just keep them up while I cut.
Also the way it hooks up is kinda weird, its basically 2 floating arms that connect at the front on one end to something like the mower, then at the back on the other end to the blades, then the middle is the pivot point and this is how the blades are raised and lowered.
The belts are just on a pulley and when you move the lever it applies pressure to an additional pulley which tightens the blades and allows the belt to be pulled taught, when disengaged the belt just slips freely.
